Dear son,
Let me ask you a question. What would you be like without the mother God gave you?
Do you realize that you were chosen (twice)? First, God chose you as His own. Second, he chose you to be your mother's only son. I think that both of these selections are spectacular. God loves you so much, he has given his BEST just for you.
Have you ever dwelled on the thought of what your mother has done for you?
She bore you (in MUCH pain - I know, I was there).
She fed, cleaned, bathed, comforted, disciplined, prayed and taught you in your early years.
She continued all of that (minus the bathing part) PLUS shuttled you around to soccer, Awana and music, she taught you as your school teacher, did your laundry, cleaned your room (after giving you MANY opportunities to do this yourself!), prepared your birthday cakes and parties and took you on Mommy dates during your middle years. She did all this while constantly lifting her heart to our Heavenly Father - faithfully submitting to His will and not her own.
In your teen years, she took you to music practice, morning manna, youth group band practice, Hancock, American Eagle, more Mommy dates and MANY times to Starbucks. She cut your hair, dyed it, taught you how to alter things with the sewing machine, read you God's Word constantly, encouraged you and LISTENED to you.
Now... well, now her actions are a lot more behind the scenes (as it should be). She prays for you even more! Even today, she took 20% of her waking hours to go find the things that you left behind or forgot before leaving.
These are only a few drops in the bucket of love that your Mother has faithfully been filling each day of your life.
She's an AWESOME women. Please let her know that! Your words of encouragement will never repay all that she has done for you, but it's not a bad start.
